Lobby for Bills to help Exploited Children
February 1, 2010 - 10:00am
.

Join Wellspring Living, Street GRACE, and A Future. Not a Past. under the Gold Dome on Monday, February 1, to lobby for bills to help victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC).

This coalition of non-profits have listed these as their 2010 priorties:

Accountability:

Hold the adult entertainment industry accountable for the secondary effects of their business by enacting a $5 adult entertainment surcharge specifically to fund services for minors who have been commercially sexually exploited.

Minmum Age in the Offense of Prostitution:

Amend Georgia law to reflect the fact that minors lack the legal capacity to enter into the sexual or commercial elements of the crime of prostitution.  This will put these victims into services such as Wellspring Living instead of prison.

Protect Programs Serving Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation:

Protect funding for the CSEC System of Care coordinating rehabilitative and restorative services for victims of commercial sexual exploitation.
